Foodtech Consulting provides independent technical support to pet food manufacturers, ingredient suppliers and brands internationally. Palatability & acceptance
Palatability is more than a coating. I work with raw materials, hydrolysates, flavour systems, fat and flavour application, texture and processing to improve acceptance of dry food, wet food and treats. Structured trials connect the animal’s response with formulation and production choices.
Specialist diets & preventive nutrition
I support the development of dietetic pet foods for particular nutritional purposes and preventive nutrition concepts, including renal, digestive and urinary nutrition. Work covers nutrient targets, ingredient selection, palatability, processing and trials. FEDIAF and AAFCO nutritional guidance can be considered where relevant, with intended uses, labelling and claims reviewed for each target market.
About Ole Holmgaard
Ole Holmgaard is a food technologist and founder of Foodtech Consulting. He combines experience in pet food product development, R&D leadership, manufacturing, laboratory work and quality assurance with a practical understanding of commercial decisions. His work covers dry and wet pet food, treats, ingredients and factory projects.
Career highlights include Group Director R&D at Arovit (2009–2013), CEO and Managing Director of Westcoast Seafood A/S (2012–2014), and consultancy work at the Danish Meat Research Institute (1988–1989). Ole also served on the Steering Committee for Agro-Industrial Biotechnology at Aalborg University Esbjerg (2000–2010).
